What you build
Thames & Kosmos Mega Cyborg Hand is a wearable mechanical hand assembled from more than 200 pieces. Water-filled pistons move its fingers without motors or batteries. The manufacturer lists it for ages 7 and up.
Learning value
The build connects fluid pressure with visible movement. Learners can assemble the mechanism, adjust its fit, and experiment with gripping different objects. It can be configured for either hand.
Who it may suit
Our editorial assessment: this is a good candidate for learners who enjoy patient assembly and mechanical experiments. Plan for adult help as needed, and read the instructions before starting.
